User Behavior and Spatial Layout Design for Public Portable Toilets

This project focuses on user behavior and spatial layout issues related to public portable toilets at large-scale events. Due to high usage rates, common problems include long queues, dirty interiors, unpleasant odors, and insufficient cleaning. The study analyzes these issues from three perspectives: objects, space, and behavior. The findings indicate that users place strong emphasis on hygiene, safety, and functionality. They also tend to prefer gender-specific toilets and squat toilet configurations. Based on these insights, the project proposes improvements to handwashing facilities, lighting, cleaning support, and circulation layout in order to enhance usage efficiency and public acceptance.
